On September 17th, the leaders of Central Oregon’s three main health care organizations came together to discuss the expected impacts to the community as a whole from the upcoming changes to the Medicaid program. Moderated by Kat Mastrangelo of Volunteers in Medicine, the panel gave a high level overview of what Medicaid is and the difference between private insurance and Medicare, and then talked about everything from increased wait times and higher volumes of more acute cases to provider job satisfaction and retention.
