2014 Annual Report: Executive Director’s Message

The mission of the City Club of Central Oregon is “to build a conscious and civic minded community through dialog, education and research that results in responsible civic engagement.”

Civic engagement is a cause dear to my heart. I remember my parents taking me to the neighborhood voting booth at election time, where they drew the curtain closed and cast their ballots. With today’s convenience of mail-in ballots, youth need to see their parents, relatives and community members engage in civic responsibility in other ways. Attending City Club, where diverse perspectives convene in a respectful environment, is a great way to demonstrate your commitment to our region.

2014 was an exciting year for City Club of Central Oregon. Monthly forum attendance increased, each of our committees grew in number of volunteers and our partnerships are stronger than ever.

I want to thank our membership, marketing and program committee members for their dedication, knowledge and passion. I am grateful to our board, made up of passionate, forward-thinking community members, for their time and service. And, most of all, thank you to our members. – the informed citizens of Central Oregon.
